Lynn Allison is a chartered physiotherapist registered with the Health Professions Council.

 

After graduating from Southampton University in 1996, she undertook her junior rotations within Portsmouth Healthcare Trust. During her time there she gained experience in all aspects of general physiotherapy, as well as some more specialised areas, such as rheumatology/hydrotherapy, stroke rehabilitation, from acute onset, through to rehab on the stroke unit and then followed up in the community.  She also spent time working on the renal transplant unit and gained experience of working with amputees and limb fitting.

Since then, she has gone on to gain extensive experience working primarily within the field of elderly care, in both an   in-patient and community setting.  Lynn has a special interest in the treatment and prevention of Frailty and has recently completed a Masters Level module in Managing Frailty at Bristol Univeristy.  Lynn has many years experience in running a Parkinson's Rehabilitation Group and several Fall Prevention and Management Groups.

 

In addition to her private practice, Lynn continues to work for the NHS as a physiotherapist within a community multi-disciplinary team, responsible for providing domiciliary physiotherapy to adults who are unable to attend a clinic or who are more appropriately treated at home.  In this role, as well as providing physiotherapy at home, she also works as a care co-ordinator, assessing peoples need for care packages, setting up care plans, monitoring and reassessing on a regular basis and adjusting the care input as required.  If you or a loved one is considering a home care package Lynn is happy to assess your level of need and advise accordingly.
